Synesthesia from Music
Pattern design based on the opera Chicago
project overview
Synesthesia is to connect the feelings of different senses, using one feeling to describe another. Kandinsky demonstrated in his article that all forms of art have the same ability to reach a certain spiritual height. He believes that in painting, color can be used to express tones.
This project will explore the possibility of patterns expressing musicality and design a set of costume patterns for the Chicago musical opera.
The collection contains 1 statement patterns (13.5” x 13.5”), 4 coordination (13.5” x 13.5”)
Color story
The color is selected from the Chicago musical opera, which uses blue and red light to create the atmosphere of dream and death.
